Day and night, same market. Steung Treng, Cambodia. On the Mekong River in northern Cambodia.
Life is very different for people in different places. Amazing. In the little house out in this salt farm on the coast of Cambodia lives a family with a number of children. As I was passing by I could hear them laughing, talking and just being together. They are not wealthy people and these salt farmers work hard. Makes me think a lot about what makes people happy or content with life.
Was walking around a crater created lake called Yeak Laom in northeastern Cambodia near the town of Ban Lung. These men are members of an indigenous group called Tampoun. Their people have lived in this area for many generations. They are using traditional instruments they created and play.
During late December 2015, I decided to walk the entire length of Cambodia from the Thai in the north to the border to the Vietnam in the south. I was hard, interesting, painful, fun. I got blisters (not good), very thirsty, tired, frustrated, and many other things, but mostly I learned a lot about myself.
